The Body: Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice that targets deep, connective tissue by holding postures for long periods of time. The focus is on presence instead of performance. Yin is Balance.
The Mind: Yin creates space and urges practitioners to look inward and focus the mind on the body. This practice urges self-acceptance and compassion. Yin is Unity.
The Breath: Intentional and conscious breathing focuses the attention on stillness so that stressed tissues can rest and gravity can open the body.
Yin yoga encourages sincere observation of the still body. We will use the postures to get into the body, and NOT the body to get into the postures.
Yin is Harmony.
